On August 2nd at approximately 0500 I had received a text message saying "congratulations". As soon as I came to and could see the text I leaped out of bed and ran to my computer and got online to check a particular website. As soon as that page loaded I quickly clicked on the PDF file that was on the site and the instant that file opened I hit alt+F and typed my last name in quickly and hit enter. There it was confirmed, I had made it, I had passed the test on my very first time testing and I had made Staff Sergeant!! I am now a Staff Sergeant selectee, with a line number of 12962! I couldn't believe it! I wasn't really planning on making Staff on my first time but I am so happy!! I remember when I took the test over Air Force history and regulations all the studying I did went out the window, I had the deer in the headlights look at the test. But I charged through and after 4hrs of testing I walked out of the building and waited 3 months to hear the results! Apparently when I looked at my test scores on Thursday I had blown both the Air Force history and the test over my career field out of the water, in fact so much that I scored in the top 4% of the 33xxx that tested!!
I have gone from E3(Airman First Class) in BMT back in Feb. 2010 to E4(Senior Airman) in December 2011 to having a line number for SSgt! All in less than 3yrs of being in the Air Force!!!
Unfortunately since I have such little time in service I will be in the last group of selectee's to sew on SSgt which will be June/July most likely! But thats ok, just knowing I made it is amazing!! I couldn't be any happier right now!!
